Meet The Iconic Jett
I was born and raised in New Orleans, the oldest of seven siblings and a single mother of seven kids. As a child, I dreamed of being like Wonder Woman - strong, respectable, and always saving the day. Growing up, I was encouraged to pursue a career in medicine or law, but I had to find my own path. I explored various passions, from hairstyling to baking and decorating cakes, and even worked as a chef. While I excelled in each of these roles, I knew I hadn't found my true calling.
That changed one day when I witnessed a woman, a nurse, rush to help a motorcyclist who had been in an accident. Her calm and confident demeanor inspired me to become a nurse, and I've been dedicated to helping others ever since.
I graduated from Florida A&M with a Bachelor's in Biology which help me form an understanding of Morphology and Psychology of Living systems and retain laboratory competency . Later I completed the nursing program at Nunez Community College, overcoming challenges with dyslexia and a speech impediment due to a traumatic head injury as an infant.
In 2015, I discovered my true passion while working at BioFit Medicine, a functional medicine practice and Med Spa. This experience opened my eyes to alternative healing methods and inspired me to continue my studies. I became a certified professional cancer coach, Holistic Nutrition counselor, and functional medicine lifestyle practitioner.
I'm committed to ongoing education and learning. I believe that diet changes your outer appearance, which led me to train at the Ann Webb Skin Institute in Austin, TX, where I earned licenses as an esthetician, laser technician, and body contouring specialist. I've also became certified in neurotoxin injections, dermaplaning, Microneedling, which advanced me to medical aesthetics. Personally, I've overcome type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and obesity, and I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge with others.
By practicing what I preach I transformed my health, and Radiating skin using Ann Webb products. I know longer have to look or feel my age, and why should anyone. I believe each person’s unique story holds the key to their healing. With empathy and gentle encouragement, I help clients uncover their underlying health issues and develop personalized plans to achieve optimal wellness, and radiating skin.

A Tribute to My Son Shawn
As I reflect on the decision to name Shawn J Aesthetic and Med Spa after my son, I'm reminded of the last time I saw him smile. It was a moment that will forever be etched in my memory. He was humming a Patsy Cline song that he said brought back fond memories of his grandma and me singing together. We shared a hearty laugh, and I was struck by his thoughtfulness.
A Heart of Gratitude
The last text I received from Shawn was a simple yet profound expression of gratitude. He thanked me for a meal I prepared, and his words were filled with love. This was characteristic of Shawn – he never took anyone or anything for granted. He was always appreciative, and his kindness was contagious.
A Heartfelt Gesture
One of my favorite memories of Shawn was his thoughtful tradition of buying me a single red rose on Mother's Day and Father's Day. When I would ask him why only one rose, he would smile and say, "Because it only took one of you to raise me and provide for me." This simple yet profound gesture spoke volumes about his character and appreciation for the love and care I had given him.
A Symbol of Appreciation
That single red rose became a symbol of Shawn's gratitude and thoughtfulness. He understood that it wasn't the quantity of gifts that mattered, but the quality of the love and care behind them. This rose would always stand out among all the others, just as Shawn stood out with his kind heart and generous spirit.
A Passion for Making Others Feel Good
Shawn had a gift for making people feel confident and proud of themselves. Whether he was cutting hair, working on cars, or assembling furniture, he took pride in his work. He loved seeing the smile on someone's face when they looked in the mirror after a good haircut or bobbing their heads to some lyrics, he just wrote He was a person who found joy in satisfying others, whether it was helping them get ready for school or simply making their day a little brighter.
A Concern for My Well-being
One of Shawn's greatest concerns was my well-being. He often worried that I was taking on too much, caring for everyone else but neglecting my own needs. He would encourage me to take time for myself, to relax and unwind. His words of wisdom and care are still with me, and they inspire me to create a space where others can find peace and rejuvenation.
Honoring His Memory
By naming this med spa after him, I aim to honor his memory and bring his spirit into a space where others can find peace and well-being. I want my clients to feel the same sense of satisfaction and confidence that Shawn's customers felt when they left his chair. My goal is to create an environment that radiates warmth and compassion, where people can come to relax, rejuvenate, and feel proud of themselves.
